FAA FLIGHT TEST EXTRA
Price Breakdown: This course consists of approximately six hours of flight instruction and three hours of ground instruction in preparation for the FAA FLIGHT TEST and use of N4GS for the FLIGHT TEST. This course can be completed in two days. The FAA FLIGHT TEST fee is $400.00 for a total out the door cost is approximately $2,400.00* Receive Complex training and your Complex Endorsement!
The SES add on counts as your Biennial Flight Review!

Would you like to just get a few splash and goes in your log book? We offer a 2 hour course that will get you plenty of water work - $450.00.
We also offer a 3 hour course that is perfect for the float plane pilot going to a haul plane or for those of you looking for some adventure - $650.00.
What's that, you want to fly the seaplane to the Bahamas? Yes, we offer a Bahamas check-out and seaplane adventure. You and a guest along with your instructor will depart at a little after sun up, and fly to the Islands for a day of fun. After learning about customs procedures, obtaining your immigration cards and cruising permit you'll be off to explore. Do some water work in the Caribbean, have lunch, snorkel, hunt for shells and just relax. Or grab a cab to bet the farm on Red 21 in one of two casinos in the Bahamas. Depart and be home before the sun sets. Price includes up to 4 hours of flight time, landing fees & departure taxes - $1,000.00.**
SES COURSE OUTLINE
DAY ONE - ONE HOUR GROUND INSTRUCTION
Aircraft certificates and documents, performance and limitations, weight and balance, operation of systems, water and seaplane characteristics, (i.e) HYDRODYNAMICS, IN RELATION TO STEP TAXI PROCEDURES.
ONE HALF HOUR PREFLIGHT AND PREFLOAT INSPECTION: Aircraft inspection to include proper amounts of FUEL, OIL, and HYDRAULIC fluid. Aircraft control surfaces, landing gear, general integrity of the aircraft.
PREFLOAT INSPECTION to include insertion of hull plugs, integrity of the hull of the boat, proper movement of the water rudder, and appropriate additional equipment needed. (i.e.) personal floatation devices, paddles, line, etc.
FOUR HOURS FLIGHT INSTRUCTION
30 MINUTES
Enter aircraft, cockpit management, engine starting, taxiing, before takeoff checklist, takeoff, usually a northwest departure to Lake Okeechobee.
Climb to at least 1,500 feet for airwork. Turns, stalls, system malfunctions.
1:30 MINUTES
Normal water takeoffs and landings, (ON THE STEP) to include step turns, of 180 and 360 degrees of heading change. On the surface of the water.

LUNCH BREAK / REST PERIOD
and debriefing and ground review

Docking, ramping, beaching, sailing.
1:30 MINUTES
Rough water takeoffs and landings, Glassy water takeoffs and landings, Confined area takeoffs and landings.

DAY TWO
30 MINUTES GROUND INSTRUCTION
Hydrodynamics, as related to step taxiing and turning on the water. Sailing, Ramping, Docking, Beaching, Seaplane Bases, Maritime Rules, Aids to Marine Navigation.
30 MINUTES PREFLIGHT & PREFLOAT INSPECTION
Aircraft inspection to include proper amounts of FUEL, OIL, and HYDRAULIC fluid. Aircraft control surfaces, landing gear, general integrity of the aircraft.
PREFLOAT INSPECTION to include insertion of hull plugs, integrity of the hull of the boat, proper movement of the water rudder, and appropriate additional equipment needed (i.e.) personal flotation devices, paddles, line, etc.
2:00 HOURS FLIGHT INSTRUCTION
Airwork, normal takeoffs and landings, rough water takeoffs and landings, glassy water takeoffs and landings, confined area takeoffs and landings, emergencies, sailing, ramping, docking, beaching, and anchoring.
YOU ARE NOW READY FOR THE FAA FLIGHT TEST
*If Seaplane-Safaris, Fish & Fly or any of it's training partners feel that you require more air or water work before taking the check ride, you will be notified and an estimate will be given to you based on an hourly cost of $250.00. If more ground instruction is needed to meet the knowledge requirements the hourly rate is $50.00.
**Additional flight time is available at $250.00 per hour.
